Our story

Our sanctuary was built by Vietnam Veteran, Dan R. Strain, his wife Tana Strain and daughter of Dan and Tana Strain, Stacy. Our Sanctuary has been in the Strain family since before Dan Strain was born. Strategically located in Woodland, AL, this farm has produced tons of vegetables and years of family memories. Dan Strain’s parents, Dwight & Sara Strain, paid for their entire farm in one year by growing green beans, One of the Non-profit founders, Stacy Strain, prayed from the onset of the move to the sanctuary, for her father and husband to see at least one veteran helped through the Sanctuary. She would wait for over a year.

One Sunday morning she prayed that same prayer and God said, “Why do you keep asking for what I have already provided?” Images of her Father and her Husband laughing, plowing with the tractor, burning brush piles, and digging in the dirt flashed across her eyes, along with tears of joy.

Her Father was the first Veteran to not only see Veterans helped, but became the first Veterans to begin to heal at Home Place Farms. Thank God for every blessing because every good and perfect gift is from Him… and purposeful.
